Competitive Landscape for Kraft Foods Credit Union

Bucket 1

These competitor logos use hokey, overused patriotic clichés to try and connect with viewers. Effective logo design is about consistency and solid direct communication. These designs are too busy and lack a clear voice. Look at the IdNYC logo, and you see the Statue of Liberty even though the business has nothing to do with it. The colors are unoriginal and don’t reflect the nature of the Company. The fonts used in the First Republic and AmeriCU logos miss the mark and add to the overall clutter of the design.

When I see a logo such as this, it tells me nothing about their business. Resulting in a sub-par, uninspiring logo that does not reflect who they are and what they do.

In comparison, I set out to design a simple logo and provide clarity of purpose.

Abstract logos can effectively stand out in a crowded category and communicate that an organization’s core competency is creativity.

Abstract logo design is a popular trend because it allows a business to be competitive without sacrificing the customer experience or the business’ voice.

Many logo designs are abstract or very simple in nature because they are trying to keep the brand’s message as the focal point. All the while trying not to get too far away from the Company’s primary message. Could the new logo have that same objective while still being simple, unique, and recognizable on all media channels?

Something simple with a splash of color but nothing over the top, an abstract done right, could help a brand stand out.

Logos are considered the first impression for a business brand. They are small and easily lost in the visual noise of advertising channels, so they need to be both visible and memorable. A logo is a focused visual cue that allows people to associate it with the proper brand. You want a logo that is distinctive, recognizable, and memorable. These qualities will help your logo stand out among the other brands in your industry.

A logo is not something you throw together – it takes time and focus, and intentionality.

An effective logo should tell the viewer something about your business or industry, or culture. Ideally, a well-thought-out logo will convey something about the Company’s personality or mission statement. It can make a statement about the Company or its ethos even before viewers know anything about them.

Established Brands. These brands are so iconic that they do not require any introduction. Established brands show us that you can easily create a variety of businesses using the same recognizable mark.

Beyond the prominent examples of “storytelling” such as movies or books, “storytelling” is a potent tool in marketing. Well-crafted storytelling can help establish brand connections with consumers, and it can be particularly effective when used in marketing communications.

Organizations that tell stories effectively can create a unique brand identity that makes them stand out from the rest.

All brands have a story to tell (sometimes multiple), as it’s an integral part of their identity. But not all brands communicate their story effectively.

Storytelling is an effective way to communicate your brand and connect with others, so why aren’t more business owners telling their stories?

Start by asking questions.
Understanding your audience and what they’re trying to achieve. That’s why I ask questions like: Who is your audience? What does your brand stand for? How are you different? What do you offer that’s unique? Where are your weaknesses?

We all know what it’s like to see a good story, and it captures your attention. But how can we create something that will be interesting, inspiring, and connect with the customers? Thinking about it, I’ve come up with a few ways that we could do this.

Trust is the foundation of any relationship. Without trust, you cannot have a good relationship. So if you want to have a good relationship with your customers, you have to build trust. If you want people to trust you, you have to be honest and transparent with them.

Communicate as clearly as possible what you are going to do. Communicate every little step of the way as you go along. Don’t make promises that you can’t or won’t keep.
